Pipe coating
Pipe coating systems advanced and at the same time modified polymers on the basis of economic the result is a wide research and long-lasting oil companies. the characteristics of the coating causing severe epidemics can be high adhesion and resistant top of that soil degradation and stresses cathodic. Has your unique restorative properties. An article for corrosion protection of steel pipes buried in soil for a long period of time, with an appropriate yield. This coating due to being economical and safe for the environment continues to be an option in the transmission lines projects.
Bitumen Coating system:
is produced from petroleum bitumen, refined crude oil which is obtained by vacuum distillation. The petroleum bitumen is oxidized at the PLC automated reactors and mixed with inert filler. This modified product can be used for the corrosion protection of onshore and offshore pipelines. The bitumen coating system consists of:
• Synthetic primer
• Bitumen Enamel
• GT550 Outerwrap
SYNTHETIC PRIMER:
Synthetic Primer is a specially formulated solvent based primer providing excellent adhesion and designed to be completely compatible with Bitumen Enamel.
Application of Synthetic Primer:
Synthetic Primer is ready for use upon delivery (after stirring) and may be applied to a clean, grit blasted steel pipes by spraying (or brushing). For normal thicknesses (dry film thickness 20-30μm, wet film thickness 100μm). The primer coverage rate is 10 m2/liter. The wet film thickness may be regulated by ±20μm, which will result in a variation in dry film thickness of 5μm. At 25°C ambient temperatures and under normal ventilation the drying time varies from 4-12 minutes depending on pipe temperature. During application the pipe temperature should be between 10-50°C and at least 3°C above dew point.
Storage of Synthetic Primer:
Synthetic Primer should be hermetically sealed and stored at temperatures between 5°C and maximum 30°C.
Quality Control of Synthetic Primer:
All raw materials for Synthetic Primer are tested and approved in the laboratories of Chemical Mine World. Each batch is tested for compliance with the product specification and a quality certificate is provided with each delivery.
Packing:
Synthetic Primer is available in 210 liter steel drums.

BITUMEN ENAMEL:
The Bitumen Enamel is based on specially selected bitumen which is modified by oxidation.Application of Bitumen Enamel:
Bitumen Enamel is applied to steel pipes, previously primed with Synthetic Primer, at 215-230°C. Also one layer of inner-wrap and one layer of outer-wrap are used in this coating system.
Storage of Bitumen Enamel:
Heated Bitumen Enamel is to be stored under constant low-speed stirring. Storage temperature and duration depends on the Bitumen grade stored.
Quality Control of Bitumen Enamel:
All raw materials for Bitumen Enamel are tested and approved in the laboratories of Chemical Mine World. The quality of the finished enamel is controlled to either EN 10300 or the costumer’s specific requirements and a quality certificate is issued for each batch produced.

GT550:
GT550 is bitumen-impregnated non-woven glass fiber reinforced fabric which is impregnated with bitumen enamel to ensure optimum protection of the fibers and to facilitate bleed through of the enamel.
The product is manufactured to an exact degree of porosity which promotes effective adhesive between outerwrap and enamel.
GT550 Outerwrap comprises a uniform fabric of chemically resistant borosilicate glass, reinforced longitudinally with continuous filament glass yarns at 8-10 mm centers.
This type of outerwrap is suitable for most soil conditions.
Application of GT550:
Bitumen Enamel is applied to steel pipes, previously primed with Synthetic Primer, at 215-230°C. Also one or two layer of inner-wrap and one layer of outer-wrap are used in this coating system.
Storage of GT550:
GT550 is stored upright on a dry surface. The product should not be exposed to direct sunlight and maximum storage height is 2.50 m.
Quality Control of GT550:
All raw materials for GT550 is tested and approved in the laboratories of Chemical Mine World. The quality of the finished outer-Wrap is controlled in accordance with related standard or customer’s specific requirements and a test certificate is provided for each batch produced.
Packing of GT550:
GT550 outerwrap is supplied in customized widths and lengths. After production the product is placed on pallets and packed in shrink film, thus allowing easy transport of the material.
